Crock Pot Rabbit Recipes-Rabbit Stew Recipes

  • 1 rabbit cut into serving pieces
  • 2 tablespoons of butter or fat
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • Pinch of paprika
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 medium onions sliced
  • 1 1/2 stalks of celery chopped
  • 3 sprigs of parsley chopped

Brown the rabbit in the fat and add salt, pepper and paprika. Add enough water to cover the rabbit, and simmer for one half hour. Add remaining ingredients, cook about one hour, until tender. Thicken this stew with 1 teaspoon of flour stirred into a little water, if desired.

Quick Stewed Rabbit Recipes

Divide rabbit into pieces at the joints, wash, rub with salt and pepper. Brown well. Add 1 cup of tomato juice, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and then simmer for one hour.

Another Rabbit Stew Recipe

  • 2 1/2 to 3 pound rabbit
  • one bay leaf
  • 1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/8 teaspoon of pepper
  • 2 quarts of boiling water
  • 2 cups of diced carrots
  • 2 cups of diced potatoes
  • 6 small onions peeled
  • 1 1/2 cups of diced celery
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 3/4 cup of cold water
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped parsley
  • dash of Tabasco sauce

Order rabbit drawn, cleaned and cut up. Wash and place in cattle with onions, Bailey, celery, salt, pepper and boiling water. Cover and bring to a boil and simmer for two hours or until rabbit is nearly tender. Add carrots and potatoes. Continue to cook until meat falls off the bone.
